Procertas empowers users of all ages and skill levels to optimize their proficiency in desktop publishing platforms like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and PDF. We help people turn their baseline tech knowledge into marketable confidence through competency-based online learning.
What is a technology Assessment?
Our LTA and BOTA products are driven by a competency-based learning and benchmarking platform focused on the core technology tools of educational and corporate productivity. In this model, users actively participate and complete graded tasks—rather than simply sitting through hours of video courses. Our modules provide real-world scenarios relevant to desktop publishing platforms like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and PDF.
Assessments can be used as a baseline diagnostic as well as a measure of effectiveness throughout the training.
What is the difference between a Trainer and an Assessment?
Trainers cover the same material as assessments but provide users with feedback at the completion of each individual task. If users perform a task correctly, they move onto the next task. If users perform a task incorrectly, they are prompted to watch a task-specific training video and retry the task. While Assessments validate a user’s current qualification, trainers offer adaptive, synchronous, active learning.
How long do Modules take to complete?
It depends on the user and the requirements. Users sit along a curve of initial competence. A small subset of users will already be extremely proficient in a given tool. The average completion time, however, is approximately 45 minutes per module.
What skills does Procertas cover?
Across our LTA and BOTA programs, we cover Microsoft Word, Word Contract, Word Brief, Word Memo, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and PDF. Within these modules, tutorials teach over 100 specific skills.
Does Procertas work on both Mac and PC?
Yes, our platform is operating system agnostic.
What are the software requirements for users?
All versions of Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF, Nuance PDF, and Foxit PDF are compatible with Procertas. Online modules can be completed using any modern web browser.
Is Procertas multi-lingual?
Beginning with French Canadian in Q1 of 2021, we will be expanding to other languages throughout the year. Currently, Procertas is available in English only.
